IYO web sites Information on International Year of the Ocean events, activities, and more is available on these organizations' web sites: NOAA www.yoto98.noaa.gov NS Adopt-a-Stream manual This community-based volunteer program takes a watershed approach to aquatic habitat restoration and fish population enhancement. Available to Nova Scotia groups on a long-term loan basis, and to others for a fee, the manual provides information on aquatic habitats and wildlife, laws and regulations, how to start and run a project, fundraising tips, and more. National Environmental Directory The National Environmental Directory Project is series of nine regional databases that provides descriptions and contact information for more than 12,000 US organizations involved in environmental education, management and policy. The information has been made available on the web, on diskette, and in print by the Global Action and Information Network (GAIN).
