Eubalaena Award Competition

Sponsored by the Toronto-based Canadian Whale Institute and the New England Aquarium, the Eubalaena Award Competition is seeking entries proposing creative and practical innovations to prevent or reduce the severity of whale entanglement in fishing gear.

The competition is open to members of the fishing industry, researchers, students, and inventors, especially those working in the fields of engineering, chemistry, and fishery technology.

Participants can submit entries in three categories:

Engineering
Chemistry/fishery technology
Open category

First prize: $5,000
