Maine Sunday Telegram. A Special Reprint
from the Pages of the Maine Sunday Telegram. August 28, 1988. 27 pp.
This special reprint from the Maine Sunday Telegram focuses solely on
the Gulf of Maine. The report occurred in installments over a four week
period and it covers a wide range of topics relating to the Gulf. The
first week provides an overview of the problems in the Gulf and explains
its diversity. The second week focuses on the problems with fisheries and
other resource-related problems. Pollution and its implications are
covered in the third week and the fourth week shows the damage
uncontrolled pollution has caused in other coastal areas. Some of the
articles from the first week are "Troubled Maine Gulf Reaches a
Crossroad," "Gulf's Natural Blender Whips Up Meals for Sea
Life," and "Gulf of Maine Breeds Abundant and Diverse
Life." In the second week edition, articles include "Fish
Decline Threatens to Swamp the Gulf Fleet," "US, Canada Clash
Over Conservation and Both Fail," as well as "Lobster Population
Drop Feared." The third week features articles such as

Coast Dump More Polution on Marine Life," and "Tiny Plants Act
