International Joint Commission. Atmospheric Deposition to the Gulf of Maine - Interim Report. August 1994. 47 pp.

In 1993 the International Joint Commission suggested to the Gulf of Maine Council that they examine atmospheric transport and deposition of toxics in the Gulf. As part of this suggestion the International Joint Commission and the US Environmental Protection Agency jointly funded a research paper and workshop discussions to study atmospheric deposition. This resource contains a summary of the workshop discussions on atmospheric deposition to the Gulf of Maine held in St. Andrews, New Brunswick on June 21-22, 1994. These discussions focused on organics and metals. This report contains the recommendations from the organics and metals working groups. The research paper contained within this report was written by H.G. McAdie. The research paper contains an overview of the Gulf of Maine, a definition of the study boundary, the mass balance model, the availability and reliability of data and the atmospheric impact of cadmium and lead. Also included is a list of references and other literature examined.
