Northeast Regional Ocean Planning public meetings set

Public meetings are scheduled by the National Regional Ocean Council (NROC) to discuss draft regional ocean planning goals and potential actions to achieve these goals. These meetings also will provide an opportunity to review maps developed to date.

The draft goals and potential actions are now available at:

These meetings will occur within the comment period during which the Northeast Regional Planning Body

Public comment will be taken at these meetings. If you are not available to attend but wish to provide input, the public comment deadline is June 28, 2013. Additional details for providing public comment will be available on May 23.

The draft goals were developed by the Northeast Regional Planning Body, a group of state, tribal, and federal representatives from New England who are working to implement the National Ocean Policy and advance regional ocean planning over the next few years.  Proceedings from their first two meetings held in April are available at the Meeting Information page

The next meeting in the early fall of 2013 will be open to the public, when the group will revise these draft goals and actions based on public discussion and input.
