Low prices to harvesters for lobster catches on both sides of the border have resulted in some controversy between industry participants.

On August 9, A New Brunswick court granted a 10-day injunction to limit Canadian lobstermen from blocking Maine trucks trying to bring lobsters to processing plants. Five New Brunswick processors sought the injunction in order to allow product to reach their plants. The court limited pickets to six at any processing facility and each had to remain at least 200 feet from the plant.
